More than 57 Million people listen to podcasts each month. What are you doing to reach them?
According to a recent survey, 57 million people (and growing) are listening to podcasts each month.
Most podcast listeners take some sort of action in response to podcast advertising and sponsorship, as you’re about to see.
The socioeconomic characteristics of many podcast listeners is really high, compared to other forms of advertising.
Which begs the following question:
Don’t you think it’s a good idea to spend a few dollars a month, sponsoring a podcast, to help get new, previously unreachable customers to go out and buy your product or service?! Or at least give it a try?!
I think so too.
Why? No matter the size, podcast listeners take action.
As you see from the chart above, it’s estimated that the action taken in response to podcast advertising and sponsorship is extremely high.
More specifically, 45% of podcast listeners visit a sponsor’s website. 42% of those listeners considered a new product or service. And another 37% gathered more information about the sponsor’s product or service.
That means, those people that listen to podcasts take some sort of action that include:
Finding out more information about your product or service talked about on the podcast.
Visiting your store location talked about on the podcast.
Actually purchasing your product or service talked about on the podcast.
Attending a performance, cultural event or exhibit of yours talked about on the podcast.
Podcast listeners have money to spend. On you!
How important is it that the people being marketed to, actually have money to buy what you sell?
That’s why it’s important to note, according to a recent Nielsen report, studies show that 45% of podcast listeners earn at least $250k or more, are white collar, professional, or in some type of management role where most have a college degree and even a post graduate degree.
They have money to spend. On you!
For no other reason than it just makes sense.
It just makes sense that we, as businesses, take advantage of what’s going on in the market, today. What most companies are doing, that’s working, to help increase a company’s sales and engagement. And stop wasting valuable dollars on things that aren’t increasing some sort of sales and/or engagement.
Don’t you think?
If you’ve read this far, then, I’m sure you agree.
Welcome sponsors! Welcome to your new way of hitting your target audience using the Creatives in Cafe’s Having Conversation (CICHC) podcast.
You see, it all started when I finished watching just about every Jerry Seinfeld episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” I loved the format, but at the same time, didn’t love the fact that to do a production like his would take a TON of time and money.
So I decided to come up with my own spin, geared towards creatives (in podcast form) called, “Creatives in Cafes Having Conversation.”
To help creatives better navigate the ever-changing waters of the world we live in today. And to help you better connect your company, to our listeners, in a more creative, results-driven way.

How do you know if you’re the perfect sponsor for the show?
You’re a cafe that you want us to host the show in and talk about until no end.
Think about it. We come to your cafe. Sit in the corner to record an entire podcast that talks about how great your cafe is and the products and services you provide. And once it’s posted, it’s on the podcast forever! That’s right. Who knows of another way, to pay an advertiser just ONE TIME and can reap the rewards for in perpetuity?
You’re a company that sells coffee-related products or services who wants to expand your reach.
What’s the one thing that most likely fuels the entire creative industry? You guessed it. Coffee! Tea! So what better way to advertise or market your coffee or tea products that you sell, then to have other creatives on the show talk about it? Those who probably use it, more than anyone. Right?
You’re a co-working space that wants to fill more seats.
Who are most freelancers? Creatives! Where do most creatives, probably work, outside of at home (or the local cafe)? Co-working spaces! That’s why it just makes sense to have creatives talk about how amazing it is to rent a co-working space to help better connect with others and grow their business. Don’t you think?
You’re a company that’s in the photo and video industry that wants to get more people buying from you, not from the usual suspects.
What creative do you know that hasn’t dabbled in photography or video? Right? But instead of going online, to their usual online shop (you know which ones I’m talking about), why not give them a reason to go to yours? I couldn’t agree more!

If you’re reading this, it’s likely you’re only one of a few who will have the chance to sponsor the Creatives in Cafes Having Conversation podcast and show. And can save from having to pay upwards of $50,000 for sponsoring a podcast with millions of listeners. Wait… What?
True, podcasts who have millions of listeners can charge 5 figures to be a sponsor of their show, because of their reach. But don’t forget, those same shows (figuratively speaking) also have millions of people sponsoring the show too!
So although you may think you’re reaching a larger audience, you’ll also getting a lot more lost in the shuffle from being one of MANY sponsors of giant, super-well-known show.
